VOICE

Ciara Adams draws on her training and extensive professional experience.

VOCABLE for University Students & Professionals
Voice and Speech Foundation Exercises for University level students & Professionals.

How can I be better understood? More articulate?
How do I project without yelling?
What is breath support?
How can I stay relaxed when I have to present? Audition? Play my instrument? Read my poetry? Speak in public?

The following VOCABLE Workshops offer students an opportunity to develop the basics of voice and speech. Basics that will help them if they are aspiring actors, singers, musicians, poets, or entering the corporate scene.

V&S ONE: The Anatomy of the Voice
BODY| BREATH| LARYNX | SPEECH MUSCLES

The Vocal Process: tension, habits.
1. Body
2. Breath and support
3. Free and placed voice

The Essential Warm-up

This three-hour intensive will leave the student with both a greater understanding of their voice in their body and a number of references and exercises to draw on and bring into their own practice. Students will leave with a thorough understanding of their vocal and physical tensions, vocal anatomy, common misconceptions will be dispelled, and they will have the tools to begin to really develop their voices for the professional world.

V&S TWO: Technique Foundation for the Voice

Further into Breath
Capacity Exercises
Learning to control support
Owning words
Taking the breath you need

This three-hour intensive will take the student into an even further understanding of their habits surrounding breath and physical tensions, and help them to understand how this affects the voice and causes strain. Straight forward and easy to remember Capacity exercises will leave students with all the tools they need to extend their support abilities and really be in control when they speak. We will take this into some work on text, and speak owning the words, taking the breath you need, breathing the space, and breaking free from restricting breath rhythms.
