Ciara Adams Ciara Adams is a multidisciplinary performer, musician, and arts educator. After studying Opera at Queen’s University, Ciara moved to London, England to train as an actor at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama. After graduation Ciara remained in the U.K. and worked with the Royal National Theatre, Royal Shakespeare Company, Southwark Playhouse, n:stage, and The Contact Theatre.   She also set up the creative partnership TITLE Productions and directed and produced two shows, The Mystery Plays for Chelmsford Cathedral (2000) and City of Sonnets (2002) in association with n:stage and The RSC. Ciara also worked for DRAMA+ in the U.K. preparing young people for the Guildhall Examination series. Ciara returned to Canada in 2002 and has been an associate artist with Theatre Gargantua and bluemouth inc. since her return. She continues to work with both companies and will appear as part of bluemouth inc’s Dance Marathon at SummerWorks 2008, and Harbourfront’s World Stage 2009. Ciara has simultaneously been establishing herself as a singer/songwriter releasing her debut album, Ciara Adams- Live at Le Sélect Bistro in 2005; and her new record, Last of the Bohemians in February 2008.

a.rawlings a.rawlings is a poet, educator, editor, and multidisciplinary artist. In 2001, York University awarded her the bpNichol Award for Distinction in Writing. She has worked with The Mercury Press, The Scream Literary Festival, Theatre Gargantua, and the documentary series Heart of a Poet. angela has also instructed writing workshops for Ryerson University, high schools throughout Ontario, Toronto Public Library, and terminus1525.ca. She is the co-editor of Shift & Switch: New Canadian Poetry (The Mercury Press, 2005). Her first book-length poem, Wide slumber for lepidopterists (Coach House Books, 2006), was featured in The Globe and Mail’s top 100 books of 2006, nominated for the Gerald Lampert Memorial Award, and received an Alcuin Award for Design. Wide slumber was translated from page to stage by Theatre Commutiny for Harbourfront Centre’s Hatch: Emerging Performance Projects series.

[MUSIC] MAY 7TH 10PM The Cameron House- Ciara Adams will appear with her band Decadent Rare singing music from her new record on May 7th at The Cameron House in Toronto.
